Always Be A Student

Keep on learning, Calisa,
Though your graduation's done;
Your whole life's an education
That has only just begun.

Your diploma is the first big step,
For knowledge is the special key
To winning what you want in life
And being who you want to be.

If you'll always be a student,
You'll find the secrets to success
And travel on the golden road
To peace and happiness.

(Original poem by Joanna Fuchs)

It is with quiet pride that I regard your many accomplishments. I have never met a more accomplished flutist than you, my own daughter, and I am personally so impressed with your graduating with a Masters degree and moving on then to SF Conservatory of Music. I knew you would become something extraordinary from the day I quietly watched you reading my Omni magazine before you started 1st grade. John left off one thing in his list... the time I came home and you were playing Bouree from the Tull "Stand Up" album. I was blown away then, and I am blown away now.

You really have come such a long way, and playing that flute is taking you far! Now here you go, onward from lovely, serene SB and on up the coast to SF, a really exciting city.
I am so glad you have always made the most out of your opportunities. Keep going, girl:) I love you!
